Dyness DL5.0C 5.12kWh 51.2V LiFePO₄ Lithium Battery
The Dyness DL5.0C is a low-voltage lithium energy storage battery engineered for residential and light commercial solar systems where reliability, modular expansion, and cost-effective performance are essential. Built using lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cell technology, the DL5.0C delivers stable power output, long cycle life, and strong safety characteristics under regular daily operation.
This battery is designed for 48V-class hybrid and inverter-charger platforms and integrates directly with a wide range of inverter brands through CAN, RS485, and RS232 communication.
System Role and Typical Applications
The Dyness DL5.0C stores energy generated by solar PV systems and supplies power during load shedding, grid outages, or peak demand periods. It is commonly used in residential backup systems, hybrid solar installations, and small commercial environments where dependable daily cycling is required.
It is not a high-voltage battery and is not intended for high-voltage inverter platforms.
51.2V Low-Voltage Battery Architecture
Operating at a nominal voltage of 51.2V, the DL5.0C fits within the standard low-voltage lithium battery category used by most residential hybrid inverters. This voltage class allows efficient power delivery while maintaining installer-friendly safety and broad inverter compatibility.
LiFePO₄ Cell Technology and 1C Performance
The DL5.0C uses LiFePO₄ cells known for thermal stability, long service life, and consistent voltage delivery. The battery supports a maximum continuous charge and discharge rate of 1C, allowing it to supply meaningful power for typical household and light commercial loads.
The recommended operating C-rate is 0.5C, which helps optimise long-term battery lifespan while still providing adequate power for everyday use.
Smart BMS and Protection Functions
An integrated Battery Management System continuously monitors voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge. Protection functions include over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit protection, and temperature protection.
The BMS also supports cell-level monitoring and balancing to maintain consistent performance across the battery pack.
Parallel Expansion and Modular Scalability
The Dyness DL5.0C supports parallel connection of up to 50 battery units, allowing systems to scale from a single 5.12kWh battery to large modular energy storage installations. This makes it suitable for future expansion as energy demands increase.
Inverter Communication and Compatibility
Communication is supported via CAN, RS485, and RS232, enabling direct integration with a wide range of inverter brands including Victron, SMA, Deye, Goodwe, Growatt, Solis, Sungrow, Voltronic and others that support Dyness communication protocols.
Installation Options and Physical Design
The DL5.0C supports wall-mounted, floor-standing, and stacked installation configurations, providing flexibility for different site requirements. With an IP20 protection rating, it is intended for indoor installation in dry, ventilated environments.
