The HinaESS PowerGem is a 5.12kWh low-voltage lithium energy storage battery engineered for residential and light commercial solar systems where reliability, daily cycling capability, and long service life are essential. Built using lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cell technology, the PowerGem delivers stable energy output, strong safety characteristics, and consistent performance under demanding operating conditions.
This battery is designed for 48V-class inverter systems and integrates directly with a wide range of hybrid and inverter-charger platforms through CAN and RS485 communication.
System Role and Ideal Applications
The PowerGem battery is designed to store energy generated from solar PV systems and supply power during load shedding, grid outages, or peak demand periods. Typical applications include residential backup systems, hybrid inverter installations, small businesses, and modular energy storage systems requiring dependable daily cycling.
It is not a high-voltage battery and is not intended for large commercial or industrial high-voltage inverter platforms.
51.2V Low-Voltage Battery Architecture

Peak discharge capability reaches 105A for 15 seconds and 120A for 0.5 seconds, allowing the battery to assist with short-duration surge loads.
Smart BMS, Active Balancing and Protection
An integrated smart Battery Management System continuously monitors voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge. The system includes active balancing to maintain cell consistency and reduce long-term degradation.
Protection features include over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature, short-circuit protection, reverse connection protection, and low-state-of-charge protection.
Parallel Expansion and System Scalability
The PowerGem supports parallel connection of up to 32 battery modules without requiring additional external devices. Individual batteries can drop offline or rejoin the system without interrupting overall system operation, allowing flexible expansion and high system resilience.
Inverter Compatibility and Communication
Communication is supported via CAN and RS485, enabling direct integration with a wide range of inverter brands including Victron, Luxpower, Deye, Voltronic, SMA, Goodwe, Growatt, Sofar, Sol-Ark, SRNE, and Must.
Correct inverter configuration is required to ensure coordinated charging, discharging, and battery protection.
Installation Options and Physical Design
The PowerGem features an elegant enclosure suitable for floor-standing or wall-mounted installation. With an IP20 protection rating, it is intended for indoor installation in dry, ventilated environments such as utility rooms, battery cabinets, or dedicated equipment spaces.
