The Deye SE-G5.3 is a low-voltage lithium energy storage battery developed for residential and commercial solar energy systems where reliability, scalability, and long service life are critical. Built using cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cell technology, the SE-G5.3 delivers high safety, strong power density, and stable long-term performance under daily cycling conditions.
This battery integrates an intelligent Battery Management System and is designed for use with 48V-class hybrid and inverter-charger platforms.
System Role and Typical Applications
The SE-G5.3 stores energy generated by solar PV systems and supplies power during grid outages, load shedding, or peak consumption periods. It is suitable for residential backup systems, hybrid solar installations, and commercial energy storage systems where modular expansion and high reliability are required.
This is a low-voltage battery and is not intended for high-voltage inverter platforms.

An intelligent Battery Management System continuously monitors voltage, current, temperature, state of charge, and state of health. The BMS provides comprehensive protection against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit conditions, and abnormal temperature events.
Automatic cell balancing helps extend battery lifespan and maintain stable performance across all cells.
Parallel Expansion and Large-Scale Scalability
The Deye SE-G5.3 features a modular design that supports parallel connection of up to 64 battery units, allowing a maximum total storage capacity of approximately 340kWh. Up to 32 units can be connected without external setup, making the system suitable for both residential and commercial energy storage projects.
Inverter Communication and System Integration
The battery supports CAN2.0 and RS485 communication interfaces, enabling seamless integration with compatible hybrid and inverter-charger platforms. Remote monitoring and firmware upgrades are supported, including USB-based firmware updates for maintenance and system optimisation.
Installation Flexibility and Physical Design
The SE-G5.3 supports multiple installation methods, including 19-inch rack mounting, floor-mounted installation, and wall-mounted installation using supplied brackets. The compact 3U rack-style design makes it suitable for installations with limited space.
Natural air cooling is used to maintain reliable operation without the need for active cooling systems.
