Shoto SDC10-Box5 5.12kWh 51.2V LiFePO₄ Lithium Battery
The Shoto SDC10-Box5 is a low-voltage lithium energy storage battery engineered for residential and light commercial solar systems where reliability, inverter compatibility, and flexible installation are critical. Built using high-quality lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cells, this battery delivers stable performance, strong safety characteristics, and long service life under regular daily cycling.
This battery is designed for 48V-class inverter systems and integrates directly with a wide range of hybrid and inverter-charger platforms using CAN and RS485 communication.
System Role and Typical Applications
The SDC10-Box5 is designed to store solar energy for use during load shedding, grid outages, or peak demand periods. It is commonly used in residential solar backup systems, hybrid inverter installations, small businesses, and modular battery banks where dependable daily operation is required.
It is not a high-voltage battery and is not intended for commercial or industrial HV inverter platforms.
51.2V Low-Voltage Battery Architecture
Operating at a nominal voltage of 51.2V, the SDC10-Box5 fits within the standard low-voltage lithium battery category used by most residential hybrid inverters. This voltage class allows efficient power delivery while maintaining installer-friendly safety and wide inverter compatibility.
LiFePO₄ Cell Technology and Performance
The battery uses high-cycle LiFePO₄ cells known for their thermal stability and long cycle life. The recommended continuous charge and discharge current is 50A (0.5C), while the battery supports a maximum continuous current of 100A (1C), allowing meaningful power output when required.
The battery operates within a charge voltage range of 54.0 to 56.4V and a discharge voltage range of 45.0 to 48.0V, ensuring stable operation across typical inverter platforms.
Smart BMS and Inverter Communication
An integrated Battery Management System monitors voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge to protect the battery during operation. Communication via CAN and RS485 allows direct integration with a wide range of inverters using pre-installed communication protocols.
This ensures coordinated charge and discharge behaviour and improved system reliability.
Parallel Expansion and Scalability
The Shoto SDC10-Box5 supports parallel connection of up to 20 battery units. This allows systems to scale from a single 5.12kWh battery to larger modular energy storage systems without replacing existing equipment.
Installation Flexibility and Physical Design
The battery supports multiple installation methods, including embedded rack mounting, wall-mounted installation, and stacked configurations. Its compact enclosure and IP20 protection rating make it suitable for indoor installation in dry, ventilated environments such as utility rooms or battery cabinets.
