Freedom Won LiTE eTower 5kWh 52V LiFePO₄ Modular Battery

The Freedom Won LiTE eTower e5000 is a modular lithium iron phosphate battery designed for residential and light commercial energy storage applications. Unlike single, sealed wall-mount batteries, the eTower system is built around a scalable modular architecture that allows capacity to be increased by stacking additional battery modules into a single vertical tower.

Each e5000 module provides 5kWh of nominal energy storage at a 52V nominal battery voltage, making it compatible with most 48V-class hybrid and inverter-charger systems.

Modular System Concept and Applications

The eTower system is designed to grow with energy requirements. A single system can be configured with one to four e5000 modules stacked together, providing total system capacities of 5kWh, 10kWh, 15kWh, or 20kWh per tower.

This modular approach is ideal for residential homes, small businesses, and light commercial installations where future expansion is expected without replacing existing batteries.

52V Low-Voltage Battery Architecture

Operating at a nominal voltage of 52V, the eTower modules are designed to suit standard 48V inverter systems while providing slightly higher voltage stability under load. The operating voltage range spans from 47V to 56V.

Battery modules must not be connected in series. Capacity expansion is achieved through parallel stacking within the designed tower configuration.

LiFePO₄ Cell Technology and Longevity

The eTower uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cell chemistry, selected for its high thermal stability, long cycle life, and safety characteristics. The recommended depth of discharge is 80% for daily use, with a maximum permissible depth of discharge of 100%.

Under moderate cycling conditions and proper temperature control, the system is designed for a service life exceeding 15 years.

Charge and Discharge Capability

A single e5000 module supports a continuous discharge current of up to 90A and a continuous discharge power of approximately 4.7kW. As modules are stacked, current and power capability increase proportionally.

The maximum recommended inverter size per tower depends on the number of modules installed, ranging from 5kVA for a single module up to 15kVA for a four-module tower.

Integrated BMS and Protection

Each module includes an advanced internal Battery Management System providing protection against over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, temperature out-of-range conditions, weak cell detection, and minimum state-of-charge control.

Active voltage-based charge current limiting is used to protect battery health and ensure long-term reliability.

Communication and Inverter Compatibility

The eTower system supports CAN Bus communication for integration with compatible hybrid inverter platforms. RS485 and RS232 interfaces are included for battery-to-battery communication and service-level firmware access.

The system is compatible with most mainstream hybrid inverter brands that support CAN-based lithium battery communication.

Installation and Physical Configuration

The battery modules are installed by stacking horizontally on top of each other using supplied pedestals to form a vertical tower. Installation can be floor-mounted, wall-mounted on a suitable shelf or bracket, or rack-mounted in a 19-inch cabinet.

Each module is housed in a painted steel enclosure designed for indoor use only and must be installed away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
